Over the past 13 years, I have built my career on one simple principle: going above and beyond when creating extraordinary design solutions. I consistently look for ways to expand my design skill set and pro-actively engage my clients to ensure I meet their demands. This principle has earned me multiple promotions as a valued team member. My design experience is extensive. I have worked for large corporations like Primedia, The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and Northrop Grumman as a Federal Defense Contractor. I have also dedicated my time to smaller, charitable efforts like my position as a Volunteer Creative Director for a non-profit. As a senior graphic designer, I have been responsible for overseeing client meetings, suggesting improvements to workflow/tracking systems, and designing multi-collateral, national campaigns. Creating infographics to logos, I have overseen or created a little of everything from the design realm.

Senior Visual Information Specialist

2008-Present

Independently manage the design and productions of a wide variety of visual products. Teach professional skills and refresher course to peers. Plan, coordinate and manage workable times lines to ensure products meet or exceed all expectations. Conduct client meetings and critiques. Responsibilities include: leading clients through the creative process; advising and consulting on the use of typography, color theory and design principals; effectively analyzing and developing visual information products through concept creation, design and print production; meeting and or exceeding the clients desires and target audience; photography research and development; time and project management; written and oral communication with client and vendors.

Senior Graphic Artist/Production Specialist

2006-2008

Collaborated with the President, Art Director and Account Executives on concept, design and production of a wide variety of products. Negotiated printing terms and conditions. Conducted press checks. Responsibilities included: conceptual development, design, and print production; meeting or exceeding clients desires and target audience; photography research; time and project management; resource allocation, negotiating printing terms and conditions; and conducting press checks; Applied knowledge on the use of typography, color theory, and design principals.

Production Supervisor

2004-2006

Lead a department of 22 employees. Supervised productivity by preparing and delegating monthly work schedules to employees. Coordinated with multiple printers and prepared the monthly production schedules for over 60 publications. Dramatically decreased the overall error rate of the production department by determining new work procedures that would ensure accuracy. Responsibilities included: hiring new employees; determining work policies and procedures; overseeing team unity and resolving grievances; preparing annual reports for each employee; providing software support and troubleshooting; preparing monthly production calendars per artist ability; and producing 1-2 monthly publications.

Graphic/Production Artist

2001-2004

Created visual information products that included editorials and multi-page displays on time-sensitive deadlines. Demonstrated strong organizational skills: the ability to adapt to changing priorities and situations; and strong attention to detail. Developed and applied knowledge on the use of typography, color theory, and design principals. Responsible for layout, pre-flighting, postscripting and creating print-ready PDF’s for assigned markets in monthly publications. Proved to be self-starter and quick learner with the ability to work independently and efficiently.
