Anytime my husband and I get wind of a family member’s engagement, I am delighted for many reasons. I adore weddings, but second to that, I love creating custom designed invitations as our wedding gift. When we heard cousin Holly was engaged and it was going to be a destination wedding; I knew a great collaboration was in the works. Working with Holly was fabulous, she is an art teacher and fine artist and had already begun sketching artwork. We met at the best paper store in town,
Paper Source, and together picked her color scheme. We chose the colors based on her destination (the Bahamas) teal for the ocean, green for the foliage, cream for the sand and a splash of yellow for the sun. My husband and I recreated the artwork and applied different elements within the original artwork to each piece. As Holly and Heyward take center stage this weekend, I present part one of our happily ever after event. Part two will be posted later in the month. As always, enjoy.

That is some good work you got here. You should start a business.
Great job as always, you are amazing!
Accidentally posted my comment to your last entry.. Here it is again 🙂
Those are awesome!! Matt and I have selected our invites and we could assemble them if we want and save some moolah. What do you use for adhesive? I’ve been looking into getting a Xyron station which I think would come in handy for escort cards and programs too. Any advice? I’m so in awe of your creative mind at work!

Thank you Melissa, you are too sweet. Previous times we used spray mount or glue dots (pain in the behind)…this time we tried a new adhesive recommended by my peeps at Paper Source, a memory tape runner. It was so easy to use, super fast, and worked like a charm. Here is the link, I highly recommend it.

Awesome! Thanks, Melanie! The Paper-Source here recommends that Xyron machine, but I’m going to look into that tape. If I get the machine, I’ll let you know if it’s worth it! Otherwise, I’m going to try the tape runner you suggested.
